An Original IP by Lauren Indovina, Nick Black, and Brando Eaton
Monstertown is a surreal coming-of-age universe built for animation, games, or film. Equal parts gothic bedtime story and subversive emotional myth, it follows a misfit monster and a wayward child who discover a decaying town caught between extinction and rebirth. Together, they must uncover what haunts the town—and themselves.
Visually, it’s a love letter to Eastern European stop-motion and ‘90s alt-cartoons. Emotionally, it’s about shame, shadow, and the quiet monsters we carry.
The IP was originally inspired by a script developed by friends Nick Black and Brando Eaton. Their early exploration of the world planted the seed for what would become Monstertown. I took that spark and reimagined the universe—riffing from their core premise to build something new, strange, and deeply personal.
Currently in development as a world-driven narrative for screen and beyond.
